About
The Conductive Education Center of Metro Detroit (CECMD) was founded in June of 1999 by a group of parents. They felt their children, affected by cerebral palsy, would benefit from Conductive Education. CECMD is a non-profit organization and has been providing no cost Conductive Education to children since September 1999. The organization provides a facility, conductor, assistants, equipment and insurance. These and other various expenses are paid for by the fund raising efforts of the parents and board members.
Since 1999 we have met our goal of offering a year-round program. We plan to continue expanding and providing services, at no cost, to many more children afflicted with cerebral palsy. Along with our fundraising efforts we are seeking state funding to keep providing our services. We are also actively attempting to integrate the concept of Conductive Education into Michigan’s school system.
We continue to appreciate the support received by family, friends and the community. On behalf of CECMD and the kids, we would like to thank you for your interest in our organization.
